June 2014 REAL brides xxx

You're in for a treat this month! June introduced me to some of my most beautiful brides yet, with some really wonderful style choices to boot. Scroll through and take a look at this year's first collection of blushing summer REAL brides for some inspiration on your own styling and a sneaky peek at what I've been getting up to...

Chloe went for a classic half up half down style with a little added volume at the crown for her wedding at Fulham Palace. I think this look worked so well with her absolutely stunning, lace trimmed dress and ended up having an almost retro feel to it.

Emma opted for flowing, feminine curls with a softening side parting and veil. Doesn't she look fab?

Liz Harvey walked down the aisle in Taplow sporting a glamourous, curled up 'do focusing around the nape of the neck for a really chic look. How amazing is her dress?!

A back view of Liz's style, showing off the intricate detailing and vintage style accessory.

I also had the pleasure of working with Liz's gorgeous Mother in Law!

Laura's choice of a classic chignon bun NEVER goes out of style  and always looks great. Matched with that fab cage veil, she really was the belle of the ball!

Laura's sister and chief bridesmaid chose to have her hair styled up into a mini beehive with a beautiful diamante clip and sections pulled out to the front for added softness.

I loved working with Maria Huse at her traditional Norweigan wedding! Wearing her hair down with a slight curl at the bottom, complete with a sparkling alice band was the perfect accompaniment to her turn of the century style, waist long veil.

Maria's sister, Katrina, went for one of my favourites: a tumbling Grecian up 'do! This was actually my style of the month for my online hairstyling course students to get to grips with.

Last but certainly not least we have Maria's brother, who's hair I didn't style, but I just had to get a shot of him in that brilliant traditional Norweigan outfit!

May REAL Brides xxx

Weddings just get better and better as the weather gets warmer, with all the gorgeous outdoor venues, Grecian inspired gowns and generally, more relaxed styles when it comes to hair.

However, it doesn't come without it's downsides too - hot weather = flyaways and makeup that just WILL NOT stay put! But fortunately, for my lucky brides, I have all sorts of nifty tricks up my sleeve to prevent you getting too hot and bothered. It's so important to me that your big day is everything you ever hoped and dreamed, so keep your eyes peeled for a new blog coming up with a few suggestions on how to enjoy this amazing weather and keep you looking great.

But for now, here is a selection of my May brides... they all look amazing!!

Sarah went for a fab half up half down do which was gently curled for added softness

Cindy looked totally glam with her fantastic headpiece sitting atop her feminine side pony

Nazan wore one of my favourite looks this month: a beautiful up 'do complete with braiding detail and tiara!

Bonnie is getting ready for her big day, coming up soon! At her trial we decided on this stunning relaxed bun look.

Laura walked down the aisle at Nutfield Priory with this sophisticated, swept back chignon which worked brilliantly with her 'on trend' waist length veil.

Suzanne had her glorious wedding at Elvetham and really looked every inch the bridal princess with her curled half up half down do with veil and tiara!

April's REAL Brides 2014

Before deciding upon a makeup and hair stylist for your big day, it's always nice to be able to see some 'real brides' that your selected professional has worked on, rather than just photo-shoot images, so that you can feel happy in the knowledge that your ideal style can be created in your specified time frame and still look great! Because of this, I always make sure that I take a few photos of my own to post on here.

April was chocka block full of fabulous styles, with gorgeous curls coming back in a big way, in both up and down dos. With the summer months approaching, I expect to more relaxed, boho looks coming through on the trial requests, which I am really excited about working on. For those of you planning a spring/summer wedding, don't forget to check out our Bridal Hair Academy blog on how to repair your damaged, winter hair in time for your wedding: http://www.bridalhairacademy.com/2014/04/repair-damaged-winter-hair-spring-2014/

But for now, here are some of my favourite April brides. Enjoy! x

Loved working on this curled, side bun. That hair accessory was totally amazing! And red hair is always a joy.

Cascading curls with a slight Audrey Hepburn lift at the roots for Vicky. A real traditional, princess look teamed with killer lashes! Beautiful.

A chic up do for this bride to complete her Indian themed wedding! So much fun on this one.

And don't her bridemaids look fab too?! Love the colour of those dresses.

Bouncy ringlets for the wonderful Rachel, getting married in Guilford. Adorned with a glittering hairband and right on trend waist length veil.

One of my trials this month where we tried out a variety of winding techniques to achieve the perfect curl. Looking forward to doing this one for real!

Another of of my favourite trials this month. This Grecian inspired style is going to look scorching at her summer wedding!

March 2014 wedding/bridal hair styles

Lots and lots of bridal hairstyling throughout March! It's always nice to be kept busy and getting to work in such amazing locations never gets old :)

Whilst I'm waiting on the beautiful, professional photos from all of these weddings I like to make sure that I have something to show to all of you, so I have taken a few snaps on my i-Pad to keep you going. Enjoy!

Trying out soft styles for Elizabeth's big day. A loosely curled, messy chignon and a fab half up half down style with braid detailing along the sides.

Gemma looking gorgeous, ready for her wedding at the Aviator Hotel in Farnborough. Love that glittering hair accessory!

Mamta Patel's stunning dress (I just had to get a photo of this!)

Sophie looked wonderful with her volumised bun complete with dimante brooch. And would you get a load of those cup cakes?! Yum!

Jenny was getting married at High Clere castle - one of my favourite locations and home to Downton Abby! Jenny's choice of a loosely styled ballerina bun with subtle detailing worked perfectly with her vintage inspired off the shoulder gown.

And her mum looked great too! :)

Fab feedback and fab photos!

Fab feedback and fab photos from our latest hair styling course! If you needed any encouragement to book a slot for next time, this should do it :)

"Hi Pam,

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, wow you must be exhausted after delivering the course for 2 days on the run!

I will certainly be signing up for the online training, I find if I don't try things out and carry things on straight away it's easy to forget so this will be a great way to ensure I hammer it home!

Thanks again for a great course, your passion for what you do is infectious!

Kind Regards

Claire Lowe"

"Hi Pam,

I didn’t have time to fully complete the survey yesterday as I had to rush off for a train. I just wanted to say what a brilliant experience it was and how much it has already changed my confidence in putting hair up. I have 4 wedding bookings so far this year and my first trial is in the middle of February. I was very nervous as there were still a few bits I felt didn’t look “professional” enough. After what I learnt yesterday I am really looking forward to cracking on with the trial and seeing what happens from there.

I also made a note on the survey about a course I went to in Chesterfield. It was ran by a company called Top Talons. It was a day course in hair up which also included a set of tools you would need (dummy head, hair tong, combs, clips and hairspray) The kit was the main selling point of the course for me. I came away really disappointed and apart from being shown a few basic styles (which were dated and not a patch on what you taught us) we were not properly shown the correct techniques.

My birthday is in February and I have asked for your 1 on 1 make up course J so hopefully I shall be seeing you again soon.

Thanks again.

Natasha Horsman x"

Thank you ladies! It's so great to hear when people have felt that their time on the course was well spent.
And now for some photos, to give you a good idea of what we get up to.....enjoy!
