around the world in 30 days!

It's been a very busy October and November so far. . . with my brides coming from all corners of the earth. . .

Jane from Australia  got married in The Green House Hotel in Bournemouth and had a lovely Sunny day . ..reminiscent of the beautiful Australian weather she'd left behind!

Charlotte, originally from Balham but now living in the French Alps, had a beautiful wedding day, she wore a beautiful dress complimenting which she accessorized with an amazing veil and tiara - family heirlooms dating back to the 1920's. . . true vintage style brought up to date with a modern twist.

Debbie, whose family came from Ireland, now living in Wembly definitely had the luck of the Irish with her on her big day, the sun shone all day and any last minute glitches were easily sorted.

I met the beautiful Nermine and her mum, from Egypt, they brought some Middle Eastern sunshine to brighten up my autumn days.

Nermine's mum is a very special lady, look out for her if you are ever buying school uniform in Harrods! You will get the best service ever . . .  from one of the kindest ladies you can imagine.

Giada Feminella (what a beautiful surname!) from Italy now has a husband from Cameroon, her family were so excited, and so was I, you can never be down for long when you're surrounded by so much positive energy!

Behice and her family from Turkey looked after me in true Middle Eastern Style supplying me with the most beautiful Turkish tea and pastries all day, she wore an amazing dress that her mum had painstakingly hand made, romantic, lacy and exquisite.

I did my first Somalian wedding a couple of weeks ago - I met Nora and her Family and was welcomed in to the family home like an old friend. They are from Somali Land   . . . I got my first taste of Somalian cuisine - I need to find a local Somalian restaurant I think! The preparations were extensive and chaotic - her driver had to get to another party and wanted to leave without taking her to the venue! Her dress was beautiful, and everything came together in the end, I did her hair, and thought I say so myself . . .she looked amazing, I can't wait to see her photos!

Roni from Zimbabwe got married  earlier this week in a picturesque venue on Gloucestershire, she's an amazing woman, and she's had a fascinating life, working and traveling around the world - amongst many other occupations she's been a professional diver and lived in war torn areas with no running water or electricity . . I felt like I could learn so much from her . . . .

I first met her last year when I did her daughter Carrie's hair and makeup at the Vineyard in Oxfordshire, so it was lovely to spend time with the family again. Her other daughter Kirsty was unable to make it to the wedding . . . for all the right reasons though. . .she had a beautiful baby girl Mia on the wedding morning, cause for a double celebration.

On Sunday I met Arozo from Afghanistan, we hadn't had time for a trial as she'd been let down last minute by her hair dresser, she looked great and was REALLY happy with the results. She had planned her engagement party in less than 3 weeks, an amazing feat of determination and perseverance!

I have of course met a good selection of British brides too, the London wedding venues attract brides from all over the U.K.. . . Londoners and Liverpudlians . . .  brides from Cardiff and Carlisle, so . . . as you can imagine, I've had a busy couple of months.

I've been shortlisted for the national Wedding Industry Awards for both best makeup artist and best hair stylist . . . I'm trying not to think about it too much. . . trying not to be nervous about the results . . . as one of my brides said. . . it doesn't actually matter if I win or not, I'm still really good at my job. . and that's what really matters. . . .thanks Julie!

Hen weekend disaster

Debbie got married on Tuesday after a disastrous end to her Hen Party . . .

Walking down the isle with her foot in plaster and 9 stitches above her right eye wasn't what she'd been planning . . but she looked lovely and wore her dress with style . . .

Wedding industry awards

I met Christine on Sunday at a beautiful venue in Suffolk ( Butley Priory), we had a lovely morning even though it was tinged with sadness as  we both got a bit emotional thinking about her mum who died a few years ago,  she has voted for me in the National Wedding Industry Awards ( best makeup artist and best hair stylist categories) and sent me this lovely thank you note . . .

Dear Pam,

It's a pleasure to vote for you! Pam, I can't thank you enough for everything you did for me, for the trial and the wedding day.

You helped to make my day absolutely perfect, you gave me the confidence I needed to get through the day and I have never had so many complements in one day!

As I stood next to Rich at the ceremony, he could hardly believe his eyes and was in tears, he said I looked so beautiful!

I'm also very grateful for all your kind and caring comments and helping me to remember my mum, I have been wearing her ring ever since the day and really did feel she was there for us, especially with holding off the rain until just after dinner!

Rich sends on his many thanks for everything you did for me, he wishes you could visit everyday! I have attached a couple of photos so you can see the huge smile I had as I walked down the aisle with my dad!! We will send on some more photos soon, there may be some better ones that are more in focus for the website once the rest are gathered together so if you can hold on, I will send on some more over the next few weeks.

Sarah also looked amazing, her hair and make-up were wonderful and looked perfect with her dress, she was so happy with the results.

Thank you so very, very much for making me feel like a princess on my wedding day and for making my new hubby very proud!

We wish you all the very best with the awards, I only wished I could score 100 out of 10!!!
You are a wonderful, caring person with a true and inspiring talent and passion for your work.
Very well done Pam on the nominations, you deserve to win both and Rich and I will be thinking of you. Please let us know how you get on!!! Will be in touch with more photos as they come in.

Best wishes,
Christine & Richard
